ok, I bought a cheap wastegate from Just Intercoolers off ebay, 35mm, 8 PSI polished stainless steel. $67 with shipping brand new. got here today with no instructions. I have 2 1/8" NPT threadded fittings 1 on the top, and 1 on the side, what do I do with them? also there is like an exhaust doughnut that goes on the bottom by the valve, how do I use that with the bottom mount it bolts to? it came with all the hardware.

hope that helps

I dunno about that....never tried it.

I have just one line running to my wastegate, with a "ball and spring" style boost controller.

IDK why it would need 2 lines running to it but it has both. wish it came with instructions, but for $67 I can't complain about instructions, I did cheap out.

with only one line and a 8psi spring you should be only getting 8psi of boost.

now when you run both lines you put pressure on the side that was open to atm. and "trick" it into say 15psi of boost (8psi from the spring and 7psi of boost added from the raising of the atm side)

this is handy since you can run the pair of vac lines to the cabin and a small diaphram style regultor (not one of those cheapy "restrictor" kinds) mount it on a bracket under your dash and you can "turn up the boost" from the drivers seat. some of them even have "notches" to can feel when turning the knob. with a little trial and error you can figure out that say 3 notches is 2psi of boost. allows you to dial back and forth easier.

so the fitting on the side, just remains open if I just want 8 PSI? I can't run any more than 8 PSI. NAPA zero'd my block deck so compression will be 8.8:1, 10 PSI's about the limit and I don't wanna burn it up

No, if you have a 8 psi spring, just run a line from the carb hat to the side port on the WG, leave the top port open. That will give you 8 psi.

Just think about how it works for a minute, and you will get how it works. Air pressure comes in the side and pushes the diaphragm up to open it against the spring. It is SUPER easy to understand, there is only one moving part.
