Got my Holley/Weber. Now the fun part - linkage.

After looking through my archieves that partain to this particular upgrade, apparently the carburetor linkage itself changed over the years which makes for a unique challenge. This just means Chaz that you will have to send me a photo of your carburetor when you receive it.

Here are some photos...

That last one is going to require some SERIOUS thought.  :D

If you got it from stovebolt you could have specified which position you wanted the ball in.

That is the one I prefer (DFV). Notice that the nut to the linkage is on the front, the 5200 are on the back and you cannot change the linkage easily. With this carb you can now fabricate or purchase a new arm that will work with the I6 and simply remove the nut and replace.

Check out the pick on the bottom of the following link. It shows my install of the same carb (electric choke) without headers.

Have fun, Ric.

Okay, so you're saying I received the DFV model? Cool. I'm going to start on the linkage fabrication tonight, hopefully. And if all goes well, I plan on incorporating another DFV!

Stang,
Here's a link for the different hardware available for the linkage. They have conversions for several different linkage setups.

By the way post your jet sizes and any changes with your jets as you tune it please, just to see if we're all in the same ball park.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks and I'll keep everyone posted on my jet sizes, etc. as soon as I feel comfortable with the driveability.

Steve,

Do you think the air cleaner and adapter posted on racetap.com would fit my DFV?

-Chris

looks like it will fit the acrb but hood clearance might be a problem...MIGHT

hard to tell from those scribbles

I didn't use that cleaner, Give them a call, if the thing is around 2 - 1/2" it should work. I believe the stock carbs are actualy a little taller so the clearance will be close. It MIGHT fit. :o) I went with the standard box one but it also went into a 64 Econoline PU.
