i put a 1975 carter yp from a maverick 250 on my 1966 170 with a cut 1978 head.according to my air/fuel mixture guage the mixture is way lean on the road.out of curiosity i unhooked a vacumn line, still in the red.i installed a carquest rebuild kit but it didn't help.anyone know of a website on rejetting this carb?it has a metering rod but i don't know if adjusting the height of it will help.

I have not rejetted a Carter YF (I think that's what you meant??) but heard that Carter AFB jets fit, same as the Edelbrock/Carter carbs so you can get them.

The Chevy II 153 4cyl ran a Carter YF with 1-5/16 venturi and 1-11/16 throttle, actually a tad bigger than your Ford 250 carb. It used a .096 jet and .072/.052 metering rod. That might be a bit rich on yours but close I bet. What jet and rod diameters are in yours now?

thanks!this carb was on an engine i bought.i hoped that it would work on my modded 170 but it has major hesitation and i can't find info on rejetting it.i have an air fuel guage in my van and it stays pegged on the lean side.i rebuilt it but its still off.i think this carb may be more trouble than its worth.
