All Small Six Weiand on a 200ci

This relates to all small sixes
Not being nasty but I think it would look oversized and silly on a one-barrel carb. It'd be possible though if you got the one for a single 4-barrel (7220) instead of the one for 2-4-barrels (7221). Just make a plate for your carb and attach it to the bottom of their plate and you'd be in like Flynn, give or take hood clearance.

It sounds like designing a car around an air cleaner.

from a technical point of view, a cold air induction system would give you a better outcome, one problem of the intake your suggesting is that of water entry in heavy rain, Ive had this happen to me in NSW when the rain got so heavy i couldnt see and had to stop.

How would I do a cold air induction system?
I'll be building one for my car. I'm using a Weber 38/38 DGES carb and this plenum:

After I get the carb and plenum mounted, I'll measure and fit 2.5" tubing to run to the driver's side of the bay with an air filter on the end. The intake will terminate behind the radiator support in a spot to pick up cooler air. I'll post pics.

This is what I did, there is a K&N filter in the metal case, it suck through the radiator support panel, its 76mm tube. Its the blue tube just to the RHS of the radiator and fan. This seems to work pretty well for me, disregard the crossflow engine.

Would a hood scoop produce the same result?
Maybe. Kinda/sorta. They are related, but not the same.

Cold, dense air = more horsepower

How you get to cold, dense air can vary. There are many types of scoops. An open scoop allows more air in and that CAN be good-but is it well-designed, and does it get the air where you want it to go? A sealed scoop seals to the bottom of the hood and adds some pressure to the cool air going into the intake, The concept of the cold air intake is to pull air that hasn't been heated by the engine and exhaust to the intake.

Do you want more cold, dense air? (And do you have money to spend?) Take it up a notch and pressurize the air going into your intake with boost. You'll need a turbocharger or supercharger for this. Or you can chill the air with an intercooler, or nitrous. Or pretty much any combo of the above. Whole books and countless articles have been written on these topics.

I was thinking a Shelby scoop. Can anyone give me a ball park estimate for "turboing" a 200ci?
Focus yourself. I'm sure that you have a laundry list of things that your car needs before a turbo. Do those things first. That's my two cents.

There's a turbo forum here if you want to read about the time, effort, expertise and money it will take to turbocharge your car.

Preferably high boost. If I'm gonna spend the money, I might as well go all out.
Did you read through the thread that I previously sent you a link for?
It involved modifying a head similar to yours for a bolt on intake manifold.
