I am going to say yes, because when I tore my engine down it had red valve springs in it too. Didn't give it much of a thought but since you mentioned it I do remember. I am 99.9% positive that my engine had never been apart before either. The bearings in the bottom end still had a date of november '65 on them.
I got a set of C3DZ-6513-A that came as original replacement parts, and they also came in colored (light purple in this case).
Got them from Roush for my 1970 Maverick I ran as a NHRA stocker, but the book says '66-'68 Ranchero.
