I have a 1967 scout 800, it has a 1968 ford galexy 302in it and a t18b, traction lock with 4.27 or 3.73 gears. I want at least 12 miles per gallon with just the primaries open. I want at lest 190 hp at 4500 rpm I do not want to rev any higher, at least 300 lbs of torque at 2500 rpm the more torque the better and enough hp, I want this truck to be quick off the line, I will run headers,4 barrel cam 1000-4500 rpm 108-110 lsa .450+lift.

the 302 will not suit me because I can not even get to all the spark plugs in the whole of the fire wall there is 1.5" between the exaust manafold and the left fire wall.

the engine compartment is 44" long and 33" wide. what ford 6 cylinder would you reccomend, I am think ing of 250 and 300, I want a nice deep tone, I think I want to run dual glasspacks.

if memory serves me correctly, you should have about five or six inches extra after shoving a 300 in there, depending on where you took your measurements
the FAQ has dimensions somewhere near the bottom

i think you might have trouble getting a small six up to 300 ft-lbs... but i'm not sure

by all accounts, the 300 sounds crappy with glasspacks

whatever you decide, good luck!
