I'm parting out a 1970 Maverick and am pulling the 3.03 trans, bell housing, flywheel, driveshaft, 8" rear end, and gas pedal/cable throttle bracket for a '65 Falcon. I'm keeping the carb just in case I need it in the future. I have a lead on a 200 from a early 70s Maverick that I'm going to warm over to replace the current 170 in the Falcon, so I don't need the Maverick 170.
No one seems to be interested in the 170 in the Maverick. I was thinking about keeping the head as I seem to remember somewhere that while the log isn't as big as later 200s there was something about it that made it worthwhile. Can anyone clarify that for me?
Also, anything else I should pull from the motor before the Maverick goes to scrap?
Thanks!
