hey dudes
ive got an xd with an xe fuel system (34adm weber), and i'm having problems with it.
when i fill up the tank, the car starts pissing and farting and even stalls sometimes, that is unless i keep the revs up over a certain point. this seemed to me to be a problem with the stock mechanical fuel pump, so i got rid of it and had a holley blue electric fuel pump installed. the problem it seemed was reduced but it is still an issue. the car seems to operate normally once the fuel hits just below 2/3 of a tank.
the throttle would go just above 1000rpm and seem to get "stuck", and giving the car more throttle would fix this and all the revs after that would be okay. from my thinkings it looked as if the carb was recieving too much fuel at this point, until i opened up the throat and it went back to normal.
could this be a problem with my carby? carbs have always seemed a little complicated for my liking but i'm ready for knowledge. has anyone else had this problem and can it be fixed by having my carby adjusted? i'm sure i can play with things like the mixture and idle speed myself without the help of a pro.
any help i can get would be greatly appreciated.
