where to find duraspark?

You'll need a few parts:

DS2 Dizzy
DS2 Cap
DS2 Cap Adaptor
New wires (old ones won't work on new cap)
either a GM module or MSD for firing.

I went MSD, but others have gone GM. I don't know much about that route.

To answer your question about where to get the Duraspark, I would suggest getting it all at the auto parts store. It's much easier than scrounging around a junk yard. Ask for the parts CobraSix posted for a '78 or '79 Fairmont (200 6 cyl. of course).

For the module, you could also use the original Ford-type (also available at the parts stores) used on these cars.

have a setup i would like to sell if you are interested

PM if interested

i apprecite the offer but i'm gonna try out the pertronix system, i invested the money i should try it i suppose

Scott,

Don't pay much attention to the DS2 string that spawned from you other question. Pertronix is a solid, and in my opinion, a great first upgrade to a car (especially if you haven't worked on cars a lot, I'm not sure of your experience). Its relatively simple to do, and will drastically change the way the car runs.

...plus, the pertronix can´t be beaten if you dig stock looks.

I have collected all three systems - pertronix´d 250 dual advance motorcraft, stock points 250 dual advance autolite, and the trick durasparkII.
