Will it fit

There is a lot of good advice in the forum regarding headers and exhaust configurations. I am considering getting a set of used long tube dual outlet Hooker headers that fit on a 60's era Mustang, with minor modifications.
My car is a 1980 with a stock 200.
Some of the articles talk about possible clearance issues around the starter, or under the car where the headers and collector would be.
So, does anyone have experience with a Fox body Mustang and headers?
Any and all advice is appreciated.

I fit a set of dual outlet headers on my 81 foxbody. They said it wouldnt fit due to the low mount starter. But i bolted it on without the starter in place and used a porta-power to push it over to the k-member. It stretched it just enough. I took it off and bolted the starter in and then put the header back on. The only problem your gonna have is getting your pipes run past the starter and the bell housing for the tranny.

Your gonna have to custom fit a set of pipes for it because nobody makes them for a dual out straight six foxbody. But if u can rent a port-power and bolt them on, you can bend them to get the clearance that you need to run past the bell. My headers came from classic inlines, even though they said they wouldnt fit, I made 'em fit in that bad boy. And dont worry about warpin the header mount to the block or anything. If they are bolted in good enough, you wont have any issues.
