XE wagon 4 speed manual into XF auto??

Will this be a bolt in application? Im assuming the manual gearbox is the same size as any other manual gearbox found in a sedan.

Any hints or problems with this conversion?

Should do nicely. The trans tunnel won't need savageing like a column shift if your XF is a T-bar. Mount, drive shaft, electronic speedo gear drive are all the same. It was the firewall that was different, not the tunnel.

Theres a few subtle differences, mainly clutch cable and metalastic bushing mount is different for the clutching mechanism. You'll need a pilot bearing, and a bypass for the neutral safety switch.

The pedal box is the fun part...

Im just making sure because ive sold my old wagon to a guy and said it should be an easy swap. I wasnt sure though. His xf is T bar so i assumed all would fit together nicely. They are both efi so throttle body etc is the same.
