Hey guys

I'm planning on doing some work to my engine, at the moment its in pretty good condition, uses absolutely no oil and water, has good compression etc. Now what I was thinking of, was putting in a Wade 877 Camshaft, here are the specs on it.
877 Ex .293
In .293 70-32
31-72 212
212 Hyd
Hyd .507
.507 110 Needs springs, good midrange
2000 - 5500

Now, I also plan to do new lifters, Heavy duty valve springs, and a new timing chain kit. Obviously after all this work has been done I will get it dyno tuned so as that I'm getting maximum benefit out of the cam work.
I plan to keep the standard 34adm weber, possibly rejet it if needed.
What are your guys thoughts on this? Do you think the bottom end will handle this fine? Howmuch power would you expect at the wheels for this setup? What other problems could I encounter with this work?

The car I'm planning to do this work to is an XF Ute, running on leaded. Currently has a 3.23 Diff ratio, 4 speed, Genie Extractors & Lukey 2.25" Exhaust.

Look forward to your comments, Cheers.

That's about 282° advertised duration, eh? I can see a problem with the rocker studs wanting to pull out - maybe. Also, use a 9 keyway timing set and dial it. The Weber might run a bit short on puff at the top, and the diff is just in the range (if you were say 2200-5200, you might want 3½:1).

Oh yes, also you'll need a recurve on the dizzy, premium fuel, and check if you need a new dizzy gear from Crow. Ignore this last point at your peril!

Regards, Adam.

How hard is it to recurve the dissy? Howmuch would it cost?

Wade Cams said I wouldn't need new dissy gear.. but Im not to sure.

Overhaul and recurve is typically about $175 plus parts, from my experience. It's best done with the car, after the cam is fitted. You can send it away with your cam and driveline specs for a close approximation.

I have a good set of hyd lifters they have about 1500ks on them

I heard its not good to use 2nd hand lifters with a new cam? :?:
