yella terra rocker lifter choice

Hello everyone,

This is my first post and I am really hoping someone has some experience here. In previous 250 builds I have used Yella Terra rollers. Now I am working on a 200 and have a set of Yella's but I am not sure of the lifter choice. On 250's I have used the Cleveland's but the 200 is much shorter. Pushrod length not an issue I will just figure that once the head is on but the wrong lifters could sure create a disaster.

Anyone used Yella's on a 200?

Thanks

you can run what ever lifter that fits the 200, and is designed for the cam you choose to run. the lifter choice makes no difference.

The lifter to use is one for the small block ford 289-302-351 W @ has oil through oiling for tubular pushrods to the rocker assembly. If the 351C lifter is the same height as the Windsor's fine.
Don't forget to block the oil galley in the left rear of the block that was used to supply oil to the rear rocker shaft pedestal.
Failure to block oil there is to prevent an oil leak at the left rear of the engine. The head gasket was not designed to cope with full oil pressure.
If you plan to use solid lifters get the ones with a laser .005" oiling hole in the lifter contact area.
Also to get extra oiling to the distributor put an oil groove in 2nd & 3rd lifters cause they are right over the oil hole above the distributor gear.

I never thought of plugging the rear oil passage in the block. My understanding was that the plates with the yells terras would not seal sufficiently to cause a problem with the head gasket. Advice here would be great. Engine is not in and if a leak is iminante it would be easier to pull the head now. The passage looks to be about 5/16 any suggestions on what to plug it with? BTW I have both a 200 and a 250 on the stand now. Also I was thinking why not machine up a set of plates similar to Yella Terra and mount ARP studs then use something like a windsor comp cam ultra stud mount rocker. I use the in my V8 builds and the have a nice wide roller which is an improvement over the extruded aluminum yella terras and other similar roller rockers. Any one gone this way that you know of? -- That would be for the next build but it is a thought anyway.
