I'm finally looking at exhaust systems so I can hook up my headers. I know I want dual exhaust, somewhat stock looking from the outside of the car. I also want 50 series mufflers (3 chamber, quieter then 40s).
Regular 50 series mufflers run about $80-90 a peice and I'd obviously need two. The rest of the piping would have to be fabbed. That seems expensive.
Mustangs Unlimited has two kits available for dual exhaust: Both include 50 series flowmasters, 2" exhaust, hangers, mounting hardware, etc.
Kit #1 is for V-8 cars with headers = $269
Kit #2 is for V-8 cars w/o headers = $299
I'm assuming that Kit #1 is the route I need to go since the pipes exhaust pipes should be shorter. Am I correct in this assumption? I know I'll have to get some fab work done, I'm just trying to minimize it to keep my costs down.
