Throttle Linkage Change with Headers?

When converting from exhaust manifold to headers, does the stock throttle linkage need to be upgraded? The stock linkage connects by spring to the exhaust manifold as shown in the picture below (not my setup). Thanks!

Should be able to work with a little modding by bending

Heat and bend the long arm over the intake manifold down about 30* more or less. The end should be parallel to the log.

I'm have the same issue. I just installed headers and the linkage rubs up agains them. I thought about bending the linkage but I think I'm going to convert to a cable.
