Folks,
I've heard that later 223 heads are higher compression. Is this true? If so, which heads will work on my '59 223. If not, how much can I plane my '59 head to jack up the compression. I'm trying to get a little more pulling power out of this engine. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brett

The head from the 1958 'A' code engine is rated at 8.6:1 and appears to be the highest stock CR available. This engine was used in the Courier and the Fairlane and rated at 145Hp.
