Since I need to replace the voltage regulator on my 55 F100, will I need to polarize the generator or does does that only apply when the generator is replaced? Thanks.
Us airplane mechs call it 'flashing the field'. Many old airplanes still have generators and, if it's set a long time, you have to 'wake up' the gen. How long since this gen has been used? You may be able to get it working with just a flash
