Previous discussions on distributor advance "locked out" had info on modifying DSII distributor's centrifugal/mechanical advance arm "slots".

I picked up an auction DSII supposed to be/looks correct for small block six but not used it yet.

The two centrifugal weight slots are 13R and 18R . Does this sound typical for correct DSII ?, my limited experience has only seen advances stamped - xxL on a Ford six Dist' .

..since max advance is stamped at only 13 degrees (13R) on this DSII ( double = 26 degrees at crank degree timing) , if I limit 13R slot to @ half current 13 degree maximum to @ 6 degrees at distributor slot advance (@12 degrees crank timing) , it should allow initial timing set out to @ 16 degrees for Total Advance @ 28 degrees (@ 16 initial + 12 centrifugal with vacuum advance disconnected ). Trying to keep out of detonation range with initial tuning.

DSII turbo mod' sound reasonable ? ., open to suggestions , please no anecdotes

thanks and have fun
