250-2V Intake Torque Specs and Pattern

Post #1 by Matthew68 » Fri Aug 24, 2018 8:55 am

Hi Folks,

Does anyone have info on the torque specs and pattern for the 250-2V intake to head? Can’t find this anywhere on the forum.

Cheers,
Matthew

On a 3/8 24 (US Fine thread) that Ford used, these studs that were a grade 5 torque was 24 to 27 FT LB's. If you used a corse thread or a grade 8 than the torque will be different. Ie a grade 5 corse thread stud would be a max of 23 ft lb. I don't have access to the bolt torque pattern but if you start at the center and work out you should be close enough. I have made it my practice to always torque bolts in steps i.e. Such as head, main bolts in three steps, and intake exhaust ect in two steps. Intake and exhaust bolts I will retorque after the engine has run a while. Good luck

Thanks, bubba.

I’m using Grade 8 3/8-16 x 1 1/2.

Thoughts on max torque? I’m good with the steps and pattern.

For a 3/8 - 16 the max torque would be 33 FT. LB's good luck
