I just got a call from my machinist who has disassembled and assessed my 68 200 block. Cylinder #1 has a lot of ring damage that will necessitate either:
1. Overbore of 60 thou (30 for the other cylinders)
2. Overbore of 30 thou plus a sleeve for #1
He said it's also possible #6 will need a sleeve, but they won't know for sure until they bore.
Thoughts on sleeving? It’s fairly cost effective ($105/each). I can’t find any blocks near me for that price and even if I did there’s no guarantee that one won’t have issues. Plus I would be in more labor for disassembly and cleaning.
