All Small Six Carb distributor combo

Hello all, I have a 66 mustang with an in-line 6, 200ci engine and have been having issues with idling, fuel/air mix, but thought I reach out to you. I have uploaded pics of my carb, distributor, and ignition coil. Can anyone confirm that these 3 things work well together? Am I missing something? Vacuums? SCV? Thank you all!

Hi, the carb looks to be the Motorcraft 1100 style, but the Spark Control Valve (SCV) is missing. The hole to the left of the vacuum tube where the SCV belongs looks plugged, and I don't see any threads. You have the Load-O-Matic (LOM) distributor, with the flatter vacuum advance cannister. My guess is that the vacuum advance is not working. Good luck

Thank you. If the distributor is electronic, would I still need the SVC? I get confused on this.

Hi, the carb and distributor work together. The newer style distributor can work with direct manifold vacuum, but later Ford distributors used a ported or timed vacuum source, above the throttle plate. The LOL distributor must go with the SCV carb. If you have a timing light with spark advance you can check the timing advance as you open the throttle.
