High hp 200

Hi. I am Norwegian so sorry for my bad English  i have a 1962 Falcon With a 200 and i want to turbo it, i want between 500-600hp. is that possible With the 200 motor or do i have to do an engine swap?

First you will need the 1965 or later 200 block that has 7 main bearings.

In order to get a 200 to make 500+ hp, the Volumetric Efficiency needs to be around 95% at 6000 rpm with the peak power at 6500 rpm.
You will need 15 lbs of boost for 500 hp at that rpm.

To get a 95% VE the head will need to flow above 200 cfm at .500" lift which will require Classic Inlines aluminum head.

The camshaft duration is 230 degrees (.050" spec) with around .530" lift with a 113 degree LSA
The exhaust system needs to be a tube header type, NOT a log style!

Yes, custom forged rods and pistons.
