All Small Six 1100 check balls

I'm rebuilding an 1100, with no spark control valve. Do I need a check ball in the hole above where the scv would have been? I have one in dashpot, acc. Pump, and below the weight

Have a look at mikes carburetors. He has loads of videos on different carbs and will know your answer. Hits kits are amazing
