All Small Six 1101 Mounting Gasket Source?

This relates to all small sixes

I bought this one a couple years ago at Napa. Note the integral copper crush washers. Now that I’m hoping to use it soon, I thought I’d pick up a couple spares. The gaskets they offer now don’t have the copper sleeves in the bolt holes. No longer available at a couple other stores I checked. Short term application might mean I’m out of luck. These were used to mount the 1101 carb on a 250 engine (between the carb and the spacer) from late ‘69 to 1970 in Mustangs at least, maybe some Falcons, Fairlanes, Montegos, etc. Anybody know where to source some now? Thanks.

I can't provide you with a source for that specific gasket but I've used the Felpro 600901 very successfully on mine for quite a few years. They're on sale at Rock Auto - pick up a passel of them and you'll be set for life.

Thanks. I had supposed the extra thick gasket with the copper inserts was to help prevent heat transfer from the engine to the carb, with the copper keeping the gasket from getting too crushed and conductive. A few years ago, when I first bought my 1101, I made a quick and crude adapter (pictured) to temporarily mount it on my small log original head and test it. I used some thin gaskets I had laying around that fit, not the thick one pictured above. And sometimes after a drive, stopped back in my garage, I thought I could hear gas boiling in the float bowl. She didn't spew, but it didn't seem like a good sign. When I bought that real gasket at NAPA I was happy to see what looked like some heat insulation built in. I've thought about making some kind of composite material heat insulator to put under the carb. Maybe I should wait and see if heat transfer with a bigger real spacer on the large log head is a problem. It doesn't seem to be for you. I can always burn that bridge when I come to it... errr, or something like that...

I hope nobody else wanted some of those gaskets. I just bought them all! Well, maybe not all of them. But I did manage to score four of them at AutoZone. Usually the local O'Reilly and NAPA are better at having the vintage stuff. They're getting shipped in, should see them in a couple days.
