hello all i have two questions i'm sure you good folks have already delt with. first how hard is it to change to an alternator from a gen. and also how many amp should i get? second, can i or should i change to a c-4 trans? just wondering if it would be better after i trick out the 144 with a bit more power or just overkill? thanks to all again, i'm finally putting together a game plan and more money so when i can i'll swap it all out...thanks , jake
 
I went from a generator to an alternator. It was very easy. Took me about 30 minutes once I got all of the parts. I purchased an alternator bracket and a voltage regulator that bolts onto the back of a stock 65 amp alternator. The small voltage regulator came with great instructions. Here is the link:

Look around on the site. They also have the bracket. It's listed at the bottom of the instruction page. You can choose to wire in you generator warning light. One wire alt conversions usually don't allow for that.
