I am in the way of rebuilding my Ford 144 six engine. It was hard to find pistons, I found a set of them at eBay, seller said that they are "Old stock" from McQuay Norris. I bought them and when arrived home I found that they have 4 grooves, 1 for oil rings and 3 for compression :?: . The problem is with the top one, the other 2 grooves have the thickness for usual compression rings.
Somebody has experience with this kind of pistons? I will appreciate if somebody can help in finding a suitable set of rings.
For reference, the part number of the pistons set is P-735AX. I have to say that now I am not sure if they are suitable or not for my 144 six.
Thanks everybody

Juan

Do you have the Falcon Performance book? If not order one, it has all the info you will need.

If I remember correctly the early inlines had very good compression. Could be the need for additional rings?

The problem with Old Stock is getting the rest of the Old Stock parts to make it work.

Good luck, Ric.
