15 mpg in 200

:D My carb mounting bolts were loose and leaking at the 90 degree adaptor, and the adjustable rocker gear was out of adjustment, so I put the stock 1981 hydraulic lifter gear on the 63 vintage head.

:o Idle improve out of site, and a massive improvement to fuel consumption. Bearing in mind my EGR line is damaged, and the O2 sensor forcing the fuel control valve to enrich the carb all the time, my current figures are great, especially since I've driven the car really darn hard over the Queenstown/Wanaka ski fields of Central Otago. And I presist with the emissions spec 10 deg btdc factory figure, and Gross Vehicle Mass is about 450 pounds up on the 2622 tare mass.

I'm getting 19 US Mpg now, and 16 US mpg when its being absolutely nailed on the steepest sections of the highway. Round town is still down in the 14 teens. Performance is up, it did 95 mph on a closed road last weekend, and 19.5 sec 1/4 mile even with the 2.73's and 450 pounds, so its certainly not on the way out.

Meantime, I've been driving the hides off it
