I have a 1960 Falcon with a 144 and a shot ford-o-matic. I really want to make this car a reliable daily freeway driver (65+mph). What will I need to bolt a T5 to the 144?

By the way, I was looking at getting a full conversion package from modern driveline, is this a good idea?

Thanks for the help.

The T5 swap is a very big project. Depends on your level of mechanical knowledge (mixed with what tools you have).

The Ford-O-Matic is such a dog. I think mine goes easily to almost 50 mph in first, which tells you how doggish it will be out of the hole. Then it only goes about 70-75 TOPS with the 3.50 gear the rear has. I considered the T5 swap, just a pain in the ace.

If you want to leave the hole, and out of 2nd and maybe third with the wheels spinning, its a great option. If you want to leave the car original and get some beater mustang with a T5 to do burnouts in, I would suggest the later.
