I have what I believe is a 200 c.i. engine in my 1968 mustang. I have a broken manifold bolt loop and associated head loop broken. There is available a 1972 6 cyl head and manifold. How can I tell if this is a 200 or 250 c.i.? Or better yet, will a 250 c.i. head fit the 200 block??
Thanks,
Bart

250 will fit nice and be an improvement.

I think casting numbers will be the best way to tell IF IT IS A 250...

how much are they asking for the 250?

the 250 head will fit, but i'm pretty sure that it will need to be milled some to raise the comp. ratio back to normal, the reason for this is that the original gasket was thinner than the gaskets used now, therefore it needs to be milled some, all the info you need to know about this swap is on this website here, don't remember exactly where i picked that info up at, check the tech section at the start page
good luck
evan

[edit] that's it!! the sticky is where i found out the info!
