2 barrel upgrade

Just wonderring- is there a big difference between using a bolt-on adapter vs. a machined log with a direct mount? It looks likes the bolt-on adapters still force the air from both carb barrels into the narrow one barrel manifold opening, but the milled logs (pictured in the previous posts) have no restriction as the milled log has a much wider intake.

I payed $35.00 to get my intake milled and another $20 for the aluminum to make the adaptors.

Dont be afraid to have a "Bolt on" adapter plate. I have 3 different adaptor plates (and have used them) on my head. 1 1bbl adapter, 2 Bbl Holley adapter I'm running now and a 2 1 Bbl adapter that I ran in the past.

It only takes about 1/2 hour to switch plates.

Never had any leaks as long as you use the right sealer and gasket material.

hey guys you have got me spooked i thoought the carb and adapter was a simple bolt on wthout any machine work. i am trying to use a holley i believe is 300cfm. do all intakes need to be machined?

It's OK, they're talking about adapters they made and installed directly on the log. Several companies make adapters that just bolt on to the original hole. Clifford, Stovebolt, maybe Transdapt. The Clifford one has a place to bolt on the original linkage IIRC.
