2 GROOVE OR 3 GROOVE

I have a 200 I6 that originally came with a 2 groove pulley, I can get a 3 groove pulley for about 100 bucks. My question is, is the 3 groove compatible with the motor that came with a 2 groove. Its and 81 that originally had a/c. A/c is gone, all i have is p/s, alt., water pump, and smog pump. Can I put it on there and just leave the one groove unused?

You sure could, but make sure it isn't going to hit anything.

There is no problem using the 3 groove pulleys.

Well on my old one the rubber blew out of it, and I can only find one place near me that has one and its like 100 bucks, but its a 3 groove, and I wanted to make sure i can use that and just leave a groove unused. So now that I know i can order it. THNX alot guys.
