Hi,
I've posted this information around the web and no one has been able to provide an answer to the mystery surrounding the engine in my '65 Mustang. I know the engine is not original due to the casting numbers but above the part number in the block casting there is an outward raised portion in the cast that reads SPECIAL. The block and other components are as follows:
Block: C6DE-6015B - 66 Block, not sure what the 'B' is for; possibly revision?
Intake: C7DE-6090-A - 67 Intake log with California Emissions ports.
Exhaust: D3DE-9430BA - 73 Exhaust Manifold
The biggest question is, What is so 'special' about this engine that it had to be cast stamped this way?
