All Small Six 200 6 rebuild steps

This relates to all small sixes
If you can return the 1 3/4 inch system for the 2 inch system that would be the best way to go. If you can't then you could still get the 2 inch Head Pipe and run that into the front of the Muffler that would help get you very decent flow and the 1 3/4 inch Tail Pipe would work until the next time it needs replacement.

That's excellent!

LOL drag-200stang beat me to that punch line!

The part # 6306 is the Crankshaft's Timing chain Gear you all ready have that installed with the Timing Chain and Gear set.

The part # 6700 is on the Engines Front Timing cover or it should be already, its the Front Crankshaft seal its Lip Seal will be sealing on the Crankshaft Dampers Hub when its installed.

That only leaves The part # 6310 missing this is the Timing covers front Crankshaft Oil Seal Splash Shield /Oil Slinger Ford used these on all the early engines and then discontinued their use sometime on the later model engines. Since you are using a stock type timing chain instead of the Duel Roller Type you could use the Splash Shield if you had one otherwise if your engine didn't have it to start with it won't hurt anything if you can't find one to use. Good luck Edited
That great information, I building a new 68 block for my 66 Mustang. Building it from a junkyard block, so a lot parts were missing. I can get an oil slinger but not sure if I should bother?

sure now...
May B he’ll pipe-in... ?

No the oil slinger is different than the wedding band. The band is more of a spacer. The slinger is stamped sheet metal. Others have said you don’t need it. Later 200’s didn’t have one if I remember correctly. They are hard to come by.

“...hard to come by..."
wedding ring even harder, glad I didnt throw mine out w/rebuild.
Whadid I no @ the time...
Several fiats, alfas’n lancias previous. Arent all i6 the same? aahahahaa

Anyone have a pic of the wedding ring you’re talking about? Where does it get installed?
I know where the oil slinger goes which I don’t have either.

The wedding ring is the cam spacer that goes on the end of the camshaft before the trust plate. It keeps everything in alignment with the correct amount of endplay.

Vintage Inlines used to carry them. They look like this: https://www.vintageinlines.com/product-page/cam-spacer-small-six

You also need a camshaft dowel. Clay Smith carries them: https://claysmithcams.com/csc-200-pin-camshaft-dowel-pin/

You might need to go to a wrecking yard for tne wedding ring / camshaft spacer.
