Well I have 3 exhaust ideas for my car and I was wanting a little input from the rest of you. Well lets start with this I have a 67' mustang with the 200, bored.040 over, custom ross forged pistons that raised the cr to 10.1:1, the fspp 274-s cam, fspp roller tipped rockers, fspp balancer, dual roller timing chain, fspp lifters and pushrods, high capacity oil pan, weber 38 carb, upgraded ignition, port and polished exhaust, and of course the fspp headers. Now what I was thinking was fabricate a custom dual exhaust using borla mufflers, like what mustangeezer shows how to do on his site. The second alternative I was thinking about was buying the 67' gt duel exhuast and custom fab the exhaust pipes to that setup. the third option I was think was ford racing sells a duel exhaust kit for 3.8l V6 stangs. It is a cat back kit that starts off with a y pipe that seperates it to 2 pipes each with it's own muffler(this may not work cause the pipes and mufflers may not line up properly under my 67'), what I could do is buy the y pipe for my headers and run a single pipe back to this kit and have it open back up to a duel exhaust. So what do you all think is the best choice, and easiest to complete. Also what do you think will be the most beneficial for my engine, performance wise.

My vote is for the 67 gt exhaust system and just fab up the conections like I did....you can add the borlas of course!

Question??

Wheres Belleville??

Later,

Doug

I'm starting to think along the same lines as you mustang_geezer...I can start off with the stock GT exhaust and go from there. Belleville is along I-94 25 miles East of Ann Arbor and about 30-35 miles west of Detroit. It's nice cause I have an NPD only 20 minutes from my house :D

Give it up and run a single exhaust behind your eight, why embarrass yourself with that ridiculous 6 sound coming out of dual pipes, LOL.

Okay....just trying to figure out where everyone is at!

I'm thinking about seeing if we can get some people to meet at one of the local car shows in lower Michigan somewhere!

Most of the shows I go to are in Michigan :D :D

As far as the exhaust goes....I was able to hook mine up in a single afternoon.

You'll like the way it sounds!!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence MG :D ! That would be cool if a bunch of us could meet up at a local car show or something keep me informed i would love to do something like that.

Since you guys aren't that far, don't you go to Woodward?

If I can get the body work I have left done by this Summer, I was thinking of heading up to Detroit this year for the cruise.

where in lower michigan are you? I'm in the canton area... I've got duals and you can look at the pictures on my site. the sound link doesn't work yet. I'll try to get that working this weekend..

i have been thinking of the same thing, and when i asked my friend who welds if he'd weld up my exhuast for me, he said that itd probaly be easier to just get straight exhuast tubes, rent a pipe bender and expander, and clamp it all together. any objections or comments on this? thanks guys.

Wheres your site at?

barroom hero, in some cases clamping is the way to go, like from the header to exhaust pipe or exhaust pipe to the muffler. other places though welding is what you want to ensure there aren't any leaks. Check out mustang_geezer's website he has a great do it yourself exhaust setup with good details on how to "do it yourself."

are the borla's just as loud as the flowmasters?

i am going to switch oput my flowmaster, it is just too LOUD!!! but i don't want to go that loud again. I like the low rumble that it has at idle but inside teh car i can't hear anything but the muffler. And friends keep asking me if i even have a muffler.

I am also going to switch to a dual setup
thanks
john

Borla's IMO have a lot better sound to them...they are't as loud as the flows, but they are enough to make you happy without being obnoxius.
