Double check to make sure everything is loose. Wires, hoses, etc.
IMHO I would take tranny and engine out together. Easier to reattach them outside of car and drop in as a unit.
If tranny is a automatic you might want to change front seal while its out of the car. Changing tranny filter at this time would not be a bad idea either.
I would also see if you can rent one of the engine leveler thingys. it lets you tilt engine to pull it up and out.
deffently should invest in an engine leveler. i cant tell you how much headache it saved me when i pulled mine out with the transmission. you can get one from the parts store for about 30-40 bucks
Where are you located? I ask this all the time. If new users would add their location, then I wouldn't need to waste time asking.
If you are local, I'd be willing to help you. Its very straight forward and easy to do. I've always just pulled the motor and left the tranny behind, but either way works.
