200 vs 250 compatability

Hey guys. Sorry for asking again. I recently lost my computer harddrive and have to re-organize my entire todo list.

This is the problem with keeping all items on the computer and not having them backed up properly.

A couple of questions please.

Is there a difference between the harmonic balancer is a 200 vs a 250?
Someone mentioned to me previously but lost the info. When converting a 200 into 250 into a 66 mustang, what motor mounts to use?
Lastly, on a 250, does anyone know the bolt size and thread for the trany mounting bolts?

Thanks for your help in advance....AGAIN.

The harmonic balancers are not even close to being the same. The cranks snouts are different diameters. About the only thing that's the same is that they both use integral pulleys.

I think the tranny to engine block bolts are 7/16-18 and about 2" long. Just going off of memory here so I maybe wrong.

Thank you for the enlightment.

Does anyone know who if any offers a performance balance for a 250?
Cheers.

The Aussie 250 damper is different than either the US 200 or US 250. Won't fit. It has the same snout diameter as a 200 but has the external dimension of a US250.

It won't have pulleys, but actually a neutral balance 289/302/5.0 damper might fit. Snout is the same diameter, but the length might differ.

Best bet is to simply rebuild the stock damper.

Classic Inlines has new ones for sale.
I sent mine to Damperdoctor. It's been repaired and I'm awaiting it's return.
There is, apparently, a kit available for repairing them. A link was recently posted but I don't have it at hand.
I think if I had to do it again I would just order a new one from Mike to save time. Having to send it down to California and back has eaten up 3 weeks of my time.

We stock dampers that are rebuilt by Damper Doc's, and offer them at the same price. If you ship your old damper to us, we normally ship the rebuilt damper in a couple days. Or you can pay a refundable core charge, then send your old damper after the new one arrives.

We also stock High Performance dampers. I've been out of the early 200ci dampers for several months, as the supplier stopped making them. However they finally agreed to make some for us, but only if we ordered enough to make it worth their while. As such, I'll be getting a shipment sometime this week.
