Hi All, im building a mild 221 for my 65 falcon coupe and need some advice on cam & carb selection. The head has had .040 off & a basic reco, I have extractors and a electronic dizzy. I also have a 1.14 autolite 2100 carb I was considering using with an adaptor on the 1.5 log head. Is this carb to big (300cfm)?. Any ideas on what cam would suit this combo? The car has a C4 with a shift kit and 3.5 gears. Im happy to fit a mild stall if need be. Thanks Craig

Engine smaller than yours, direct mount 500 cfm 1.375" PN # 4412.

Use 72DA or later 250/200 log head off Cortina or XA onwards Falcon. Has more meat for a direct mount.

The engine combination with a proper 2-bbl with a log head can still make 205 hp, though. See Crosley's direct mount Falcon modifications. His was Just a 1977 D7 head, some basic milling, and a nice radical 274 cam, which isn't even lumpy on a cast iron intake Ford, they still idle like an old Model T.http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=56639&p=440076#p440076. Can't do 15 sec ET's at 88mph unless you've got 205 hp.

Other options are to use what you have....viewtopic.php?f=3&t=31710&p=230073#p230073

You can use a cut off wheel and make a new 2-bbl Holley or Autolite base adapter. Can't find the photo's real quick, but one guy on the Bronco forum did it.
