I'm doing the 240/300 distributor swap and want to change out the oil pump to match the distributor drive. Do the 223 and 262 use the same oil pump? I did a search for '64 223 oil pump but the 262 one keeps coming up.

Yes it can however you will have much of the engine unhooked & unbolted enough from the frame mounts to rasie it up so you can get the oil pan off then it's not much more work to accually pull it out. I guess it all depends on the tools and equipment that you have to work with and the location were your doing the work at like a garage or shop, outside, parking lot ect.
