So I just finished up my new mods...Seems like it took forever. Anyways, I went with the below listed mods:

Clifford 4-Barrel Intake
Edelbrock 500cfm 4-barrel Carb
Split Header Set from Sacramento FORD
Dual exh. with 2-1/4 Dynomax Tubo Muffs
Custom Throttle Pedal from 80's V-8 F150
Petronix Electronic Ignition Kit "Aced them points"

I have been driving the truck for a week or so now and I have to say...My truck has NEVER ran better. I have had my 59 F100 since 93 and it behaves and performs perfectly now. It was always a pretty good and dependable truck but it never ran this clean or idled this smooth.

The power is SILLY compared to where it was...Its no hot rod but it is very nice to be able to keep up with traffic and pass slower vehicles.

The Exauhst tone is exactly what I was trying to achieve. It has a nice deep/bass tone without the buzz tones. Could not be happier with this part of the project.

The throttle pedal came from an 80's truck and needed some cutting and welding hear and there. It was a pain in the arse but it turned out perfect. Having just one simple lil cable running from the firewall to the carb is nice...No cobbled up appearance at all.

The 500cfm Carb by Edelbrock works great...Talk about plug and play. Its more carb than I need for now, but when the new Torque cam and aggressive headwork is complete I should be using every bit of it.

Cold starts are soooo simple and trouble free with temps below 30deg F...

Now I can move on to new challenges with the truck. Anyone who is on the fence with any of these mods should go ahead and pull the trigger...ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Cheers,

Brad

Sounds awesome!

Can you procide some additional details about the project. Iam the most interested in the carb/adapter and gaspedal setup. Was the pedal a necessity because of the new carb or just an upgrade? Specifically what Clifford adapter and carb did you use? That kind of stuff. This is exactly the kind of project I've been considering.

I burned my first pertronix ignitor set by following the directions :D :D
Found out from pertronix help desk that you should have 3 ohm resistor, not 1.5 . They replaced the first one; no problems since them.

Yes IMO the pedal was a must with the new carb, I will get some pictures of the bracketry and linkage setup. Its pretty simple but the pedal assembly was a PITA to get right in the cab. Other than that is was pretty simple. Need a chop saw and a welder...Or just have it done..

I used the Edelbrock 500cfm 4-barrel jetted down as small as possible. It works damn nice. I am netting 18mpg. and am working to improve that a lil more with timing and A/F adjustments. I am pretty chuffed with the results. Almost everyone said no way to the Edelbrock 500...Nay sayers crack me up...

The carb adapter is one I picked up from Shucks and modified to work...I would be easier to just get the adapter from Clifford, but if ya want to save $50 its not a bad option to modify one that you can make work.

That about summs it up...I will report back with pics soon...

Did you use Pertronix kit #91261?

Mike

Mike, I am not sure....My Dad owns a business and one of his suppliers "Competition Specialties" helped me choose the correct setup over the phone. I don't have any of the paperwork on it now...

If you contact a vendor they will be able to help you.
