223cid Slow revving problem...

I am a ways off from a project like that Fred so I definitely wont be diving into a project like that. Plus it's freezing cold here now so whatever work is not necessary, will not get done for a while...My hands just dont function well in the cold especiall when I dont have a garage to work in. Thanks for the info :)

Here in your picture the arm that is suposed to be holding the choke cable housing is broken, it sits behind that other linkage without that clip thingy. And it looks like somebody has had the choke butterfly & shaft out before because its brazed welded on the end, they break very easily so be carefull or have someone install arm that has done it before.

Ahh...I see now. I thought something looked fishy there.

I soldered that arm back on the shaft because it basically fell apart on me when I first started tinkering with this truck. I figured I had nothing to lose and it is holding just fine.

I dont suppose you have a picture of your old 215 w/o the air cleaner installed do you?

Hi All, I'm new here, but are any of those oil bath air cleaners still available? My current project is a 60 F100 with a 223 and a factory 4 spd. I'm going to restore it to original. I'm here on the east coast in NJ if anybody is close by.Thanks....Steve.

I have a spare air cleaner with a hole and stake style mount instead of the collar mount like the earlier Holleys. I'm not sure which style you should have, and my parts book is down where the cleaner is. I can check at the junkyard when I get there(I got delayed in Northern Illinois >.< ).

What do you mean by still available....as in reproductions? If so I don't think you can get them new anymore, your best bet is junkyards or Erape etc.

As in available, I noticed that two seperate posts offered their air cleaners for sale. I was wondering if any of those were still for sale? My carb is a Holley and has a crappy clamp on (collar underneath)aftermarket filter assy.

No air cleaners for sale. I already gave up my oil bath air cleaner to someone on this site.... try ebay, junkyard or Charlie Price's Vintage Speed has a lot of nice aftermarket or Reproduction stuff.
