....so i guess that ex boat 2V head on ebay is yours?

That's miune! I took the head off, and its perfect. So i'm gonna simply sell it and use the cash to fund a crossflow conversion.

500... is that a fair price?
I saw one sell for ~650 2 weeks ago, and another go for 700 a few months ago. So i think 500 is about right?

we'll see, you seem to have a fair bit of interest in it. I know i'll be watching! You seem to get what you ask for with the 2v's. I've seen them go for next to nothing and as you say, they can go for quite a bit of money.

Makes you cry sometimes... A couple of weeks ago I saw a complete pre-crossflow motor (carb, exhaust, head, block, fuel pump, etc.) go onto a scrap metal truck! A shame. :(

Thats all I do at my part time job, cry all farkin day. With the current price of scrap metal its more economically viable to crush perfectly good cars than to wreck them out. By the time you factor in rent, wages, super, workcover, utilities, storage of 300 cars and storage and depreciation of the parts it becomes hardly worth it. You don't want to know how many good easy-rebuild logs and crossflows I see wasted.

I once saw a 2 door MK 1 Corty go to car heaven. :( I offered the truck driver $500 and he said it was out of his hands and he was just doing his job. Its one of those flashback moments that ill see on my death bed

Hi Chubs
are you selling the exhaust manifold? If so what brand is it ? ( Rolco?)
Has it been run in salt or fresh water?

Cheers

Rob

From the earlier test it seems as you are using raw water-cooling and not a heat exchanger. Is this used in salt water? --I wonder how an alloy heat will last with hot saltwater running through it.

If you do regularly run it in the salt, it is probably worth plumbing a a quick-connect for a garden hose so you can flush the rig with fresh water after it is on the trailer. (Just one thing to remember when running the motor on the trailer, do not run for long periods with the prop engaged or the cutless bearing will chop out from absence of water lubrication.)

Outboards resist corrosion quite well because they use a special grade of marine alloy, however before the manufacturers got it right some did not fare too well.

sold the head now - all happy.

Great! ...what about the Exhaust manifold? ( They are different for the aluminium head so you can't use your current one)

See my post earlier saying I could be interested in it.

Thanks
