250 oil pump shaft bushing part number

isn't there a bushing that presses into the engine block to support / guide the oil pump drive shaft from dist to oil pump ? I haven't disassembled my engine yet but this is what I was led to believe.

I assembled my 250 recently ... No oil pump drive shaft bushing. The shaft, which is shorter than the shaft on a 200, fits into the oil pump and the dist. shaft.

Thanks
Bob

This a caution to all .

There is a few drive shaft length combos. Make sure that it is not to short or to long. I had one that was about .012'' to long just enough not to be noticeable, distributor tightened down ok. On later freshen up found the damaged pump . :bang:

got any measurments by yr?

Bob, you are welcome .

It took me a long time to learn about these engines.....one mistake at a time ...some times two.

Comparing shaft lengths is a good idea. It might also be a good idea to compare the hole depths on the pump and the dizzy since they are both after market pieces.

Keep up the good work.
