289 V8 rad in a 200 6 cyl

The V8 radiator will fit in the opening, the only problem is the lower hose opening is on the wrong side.
The lower hose is on the drivers side on the 6Cyl rad, the passenger side on the V8.

Thanks Dan,

Do you know if there are lower hoses that can be used for a v8 rad in the I6? I can get a really good deal on a 289 aluminum rad. and would hate to pass it by....

The late model 5.0 mustangs have the water pump inlet on the driver side like the 200ci, when swapping my late model into our J-code, I simply used parts of two stock hoses and a piece of steel tube to re-route the water to the passenger side.

I plan on bending a custom crossover tube and attaching with short pieces of silicone hose, just have to find stainless tube for the right price...

Hope it helps, re-routing the lower hose is simple if you are willing to cut and splice together a few pieces of hose and steel tube. Don't forget the coiled spring to keep the hose open.

If you have a chance to get a good deal on an aluminum radiator and not afraid to do a reroute on the lower hose, go for it.
Just make sure when you reroute the hose keep it clear of the fan.
