I am in the process of restoring an XY GS with a 2V 250. I have the original aircleaner and rocker cover but they have been chromed.
I intend to restore them back to their original a burnt orange colour. I have had no luck however trying to find out what kind of stickers were on the aircleaner for the 2V. The V8's had a chequered flag thingy.
I have been told that it could be reproduced if I could get a photo.
Does anyone here know what they looked like and could they download something onto the site.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have some ancient car mags around here somewhere... i think there maybe something in them. Give me a couple of days to have a scratch around for them.

Can't credit it because I got it off Deano, and haven't a clue where he found it.

Best I have, though.

Cheers, Adam.

BTW, I have 2 pack in the authentic block colour, but no match for the air cleaner.

Sensational.
There is a place in Melbourne where they tell me they can reproduce.

Any other photos would be appreciated.

Its my understanding that they also had a "170 HP" chrome badge on the side of the fender when fitted with a 250 2V.
I attempted to get one that I had heard of at rare spares for $40 It was sold by the time I made the two hour trip to get it.
Its nice to see your building an original.

The 170HP badges are available as repros for about $25 each. The real hen's teeth one says "2V" in chunky red(?) letters and was on the sides of the XA guards. Probably 20 years since I saw one. They're all sold out and not remade. I was quoted $12-1500 for a small run, needing a mint one as "donor".

Regards, Adam.

Addo, your incredible!
Is there anything at all you dont know about these things. Let us know if your hiding anything. Appreciate all your posts.
Regards Tim

Cool, a compliment! Try GT Ford Performance in Vic, maybe Early Bird down there, too. The latter might have one of the rare ones mentioned...

What don't I tell? Not much. I like a level playing field.

Thanks guys. These were the guys who said they could reproduce if I could get a photo.
Their shop is fantastic. I have bought online and visited the shop 3 times when I'm in Melbourne.
I spend hours on their site.
Dave the owner is passionate about Ford. The shop is a shrine to ford.
The floor is granite with Ford steering wheel inlay. He's got old Ford ad printing plates for ads they ran. I could go on and on!
