Hello ,
I have 66 mustang with stock engine .
I just put a DSII kit from Classic inline .
I want to change my 1940 holley by 32/36 weber .
I buy it from a friend of me who buy it from stoveboltengineco.com .He never use it because he put 38 DGAS.
When I'll put 32/36 , can I change any Jet or Can I put without modification ?
Thanks
Fred
Excuses me for my english

If you bolt the weber on, the car will certainly start and run. It just might not start and run very well.

Weber carbs are VERY tunable and can be nicely configured to run on almost anything. Not knowing what applicationthe carb was intended for, it may be pretty close, and it may be really far off in terms of jetting. The price has come way down on wideband systems and I would recommend you get one and install it, It will be your best friend for something like this.

> 32/36 progressive 2 Bbl can be installed with a simple 2X1 adapter from Sovebolt' , as mentioned, the carb probably will need tuning to optimize for your car. Tuning - Jet swapping , usually is needed because 32/36's were used on many different - big and tiny displacement engines including US licensed "5200" series Holley/Weber versions which all use Weber style jets NOT Holley (AFAIH) .

H/W 5200 (Merc-Capri 2.8L V6 version), 'Stovebolt 2X1, '63 Falcon with 71 Maverick HiPo 170/5200/Headers/T5 driven daily @ 6 years :

I put my Holley weber last month , It's great .

This is my carb's jets :
idle : 70 primary et 60 secondary
main jet : 165 primary et 160 secondary
Air corrector : 180 primary et 170 secondary
Dual outlet accelerator pump jet = 50
Emulsion tube primary : 16
Emulsion tube secondary : 50

I don't know if primary and secondary emulsion tube choice are correct for my carb .
My engine is stock , only DSII kit .
Thanks

how does the engine run with the current combination? if you dont have any stumbling issues, especially in the mid range rpms, then you emulsion tubes are likely very close to correct.

Am I the only person who read DGAS as Degas? Or has living with an art history graduate from Cal affected me that much? Fred's in France, that's got to be obvious. Doesn't it?

Your English is good, my French is terrible. My mother spoke it to me growing up but it mostly made me an interpretive, contextual thinker. However, I just got back from Italy and French was my from-the-hip exclamation language, I had to think to use Italian.

That's a good looking engine, short of an air/fuel meter, remember to listen for pings/knocking and check your plugs for carbon quality.

no you are just a loon like the rest of us here. :rolflmao: :rolflmao:

I put the 32/36 (also from Stovebolt) on in March of this year. I even made an adapter for the F6 snorkel. (Check link) The carb had set in my garage on the shelf for almost 2yrs. I had experimented with PONY stuff during that time and had problems with idle, stumbling and no top end. I kept the original jets (OEM) and sizes but I bought a Weber jet kit from F6 when I purchased the snorkel kit and tubes. I sprayed it with carb cleaner and left the screw settings at factory.

Never changed my timing from 1bbl. Never changed fuel pump setting (4psi) and it started immediately. I spent 20 mins fooling with choke (elec) and that was it. It was a perfect change for my mild built 6 and did not affect my mileage. What a change to feel the secondary kick in while accelerating. Its an in-between choice between a 1bbl and the 38/38. Go for it..there is nothing lost. (I did use my own adaptor since the Stovebolt adapter was not a clean fit for me. I made my own gaskets too!) Let me know if you need help.
