Howdy LwCwb:
What are you trying to accomplish with the carb tuning? Is this on an engine with a standard or auto trans? More specific info would help us to be more helpful in response.
Make sure that your ignition system is in good serviceable shape before doing any carb tuning. It is easy to mistake ignition problems for carb problems and harder to get true carb adjustments if your ignition is not doing its job. Make sure your initial spark advance is properly set before any carb tuning.
A good spray down, both inside and out, with carb cleaner before trying to tune is also a good idea. That will eliminate any stickiness from varnish buildup and dirt. Also make sure the throttle shafts are tight and there are no other vacuum leaks.
In addition to the Low speed air screw, and the high and low speed choke settings, you can adjust the auto choke actuation points if you have an automatic choke and the curb idle setting. If the carb was running good at some time in the past it is unlikely that you will need to readjust the accelerator pump pivot holes, but it is good to know that they are there.
Make sure that your throttle linkage is adjusted properly first, and that the throttle return spring is doing its job.
How long has it been since you've rebuilt this carb? Autolite 1100s are very susceptible to dirt, they have a weak, at best, accelerator pump system. A rebuild kit will have specific instructions on setting for your application.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
Adios, David
