I recently purchased a 62 falcon fordor which has a 68' 200 cid in it. I think the accel. pump might be going out on it as when i depress the gas pedal it initially bogs way down, varying between stalling, or if i feather the pedal a bit, then i can get it past that point. The carb has a sticker on it that says holley reman 64-5016, but i can not seem to find any info on this carb, i.e. what its applications were, what its specs are or anything like that. couldn't even google it. I believe that the applicable holley for this engine was the 64-5155. any help would be appreciated.

it sounds like an accelerator pump problem
here, this is a pic of an autolite 1100
1100.jpg

see right on the bowl of the carb, there's that little square piece with an arm on it?
you should have something similar (unless the Holley carb is that different from the autolite)
you can't really see it, but in the middle of that arm is a screw, i can't remember if you need to screw it in some, or back it out, but if you play with that it might be able to help

l'm running out now to look. found out from holley that mine is "no longer supp0rted" i.e no kits or nuttin. thanks asa.

might be time for an upgrade then

just because Holley doesn't support 'em doesn't mean that they aren't supported elsewhere

running that screw either way didnt appear to make a difference.

on mine there were two

it might not be the accelerator pump, i just remember that is what mine would do

alas, there is only one screw on mine and connected with linkage under the carb to the other side.

by the way, i used to work for security up there on the navy side.

I have REALLY old Holley's Model 1908's. Someone from this forum told me to check NAPA. Sure enough, they had them. They are about $30 a pop for mine. Your later model Holley may be less.

Good Luck

hey ASA, thanks for the tip on the accel pump. Pulled the carb off today to rebuild the pump, and found the linkage that runs from one side of the bowl to the other side where the pivot point is that has the spring was missing the roll pin that hold tension on the spring. The NAPA guy just threw me a couple at no charge and that fixed my problems up real good. again, thanks for the assist.
