I have an SROD tranny out of a 80 Fairmont with I6 200 with a high mount starter. The bell housing has the number: D9BC-6392 CA
I have not been able to find the correct starter from any auto parts stores. The problem is that the starter mounting holes are a different pattern on this bell then on any of the ones they have in their books and computers. The two holes are straight across the starter hole (i.e 12 & 6 oclock) where all the ford starters they've tried to give me are offset (i.e. 10 & 6 oclock).
This tranny came from Canada, so I was thinking maybe there were different parts going to that market?? The stores didn't know anything about canadian bells being different.
If anybody has any advice, starter part #, or sources for this part, I would greatly appreciate it.
The tranny tag reads: RUG DD BA6
EOBR AA 0266
Thank you,
Logan Medeiros
