Air Cleaner for a Holley 1940

Does anyone have a recommendation for a useful air cleaner for a Holley 1940? The one the carb came with is little better than a lawnmower filter... actually, it *is* a lawnmower filter, as the actual filter it came with was about 3/4" shorter as the lawnmower filter I put on it. Same diameter.

The next on the carb is just less than 2.25", 56mm. I really don't have a mountain of cash to throw at CI's CAI (not that I'd necessarily be able to order one now anyway).... I'm looking for something in the sub $50 range. Any suggestions?

Have an aluminum adapter plate made from your carb to a standard 4 barrel there was one on the inline classic products to look at for referance

what did you end up doing. I have run many of the holley 1940s and like them a lot. I always used the stock are cleaner housing with good success but never tried anything else. maybe there is an improvement with the adapter and aftermarket filter and housing?

I ended up using an air cleaner from a Harley davidson. Just looked around at a few small ones at the shelf and found on from a road king that fit. If I can find the part number again, I'll give it to you.
