Alternator Stator voltage

Have a 65 mustang 200 which has been rebuilt with all new 66 wiring. 66 Wiring was used in order to use the 5 cluster gauges. Car is running but I am not sure the alternator is working. Everywhere I test I get 12 volts and I would expect 13 - 14 if the alternator was working. Will pull the alternator and get it tested but if it were working correctly should I have voltage on the stator terminal .

Thanks

Stator voltage will be close to 9 volts.
At a fast idle with a fully charged battery you should have 13.5-14.5 volts at the + battery terminal.
If the battery is low on charge your charging voltage may be lower. I=E/R.
To be on the safe side have your alternator checked. If one or two diodes fail charging voltage & ampere output will be low. More power to you. Bill
